6 Free and Easy Ways to Get People to Read Your Blog

"6 Free and easy ways to get people to read your blog"A year ago, In February of 2011, I wrote an amazing article titled : “It’s a New Dawn; Protect Your Online Reputation”. It was one of my first blogs. I was filled with great confidence about the vast value it was going to offer my “online community”. After all, I have awesome services to sell, and I knew people would hungrily sign up for them, and most definately hire me to protect their online reputation. I was targeting a strategic market, offering services at a competitive price and providing interesting content on various platforms. All the stuff the big gun Joe Pulizzi talks about.

After it posted I waited patiently for the floods of comments and discussions and was thrilled to see the three comments left by my ex husband, my daughter and after I taught him how to open a blog and get IN there, my brother. [Read more...]

Video Blogging: Why? 4 Reasons to Do It

I’m getting ready to release my first video. Actually the 30 some odd minutes of uncut video is sitting in my computer waiting to be edited down to a fraction of the current length, all in the name of “watchability.” I talk a lot, what can I say. And it all seems so valuable. It’s not, trust me, I just need to take myself down a notch.

Why, you may be asking, is she adding yet another layer of content to her existing marketing? Enough, already! I’ll tell you why: because it’s important. New content, in various formats, is what drives interest, which drives web traffic, which drives search engine crawlers, which drives sales, and video is one of the most effective formats available today. I was just talking to a client today, a publisher of Humor Magazine, who told me that as strong as his ad sales are for his magazine, when he posts a link to his website which houses a video , sales spike so drastically that he is now considering bringing the entire magazine online and foregoing the printed hard copy format. A Website That’s Got It Goin’ On; Or, How to Get People To Click Into Your Site, and Keep Them There

With last week’s most recent climatic episode of “The End of the State of Connecticut As We Know It”, it became so much of a challenge to get actual work done that at one point I packed it in and dove deep into my collection of bookmarked cool blog sites that I’ve been meaning to get to one of these days and pulled out one of the best sites out there: 12Most.com . Opinions Needed

I’m running a short survey to discover which day of the week you are more likely to read a blog….well, ok, my blog. There are so many theories on reader trends, and I’m finding that none are across the board, at least in my circles. Damn my diverse group of friends and colleagues!

So please do me a favor and give me your opinions on when you’re most likely to take the time to open up a blog over a cup of coffee, or large glass of wine, and be enthralled by my witty yet oh so valuable information:

Mondays- because it takes you a while to work into work mode after the weekend?

Wednesdays- hump day?

Fridays- because you’re so burnt out by then that you’re starting to wind down and need my cheery tips and observations to help you a) escape, or b)
into work mode for one last day, or c) be amused?

Or another day of the week?

Or…never??? if this is your answer i’m happy to remove your from the list. Well, full disclosure, perhaps not happy, but will remove you, grudgingly. Note to close friends and family: you are exempt from this choice. Just ask my brother who found this out the hard way.

Thanks for your responses, in advance. Kidding aside, your opinions are very valuable to me. Now i’ll go post this on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter like a good Social Media Marketer should.
