I’ve gotten a number of emails since publishing last weeks blog on the new Facebook  feature, See First.  Thought I’d throw out a quickie on how to use the Facebook See First option on mobile, since more and more folks are looking at our content via mobile devices, as we know, and choosing content from there. In my Google Analytics, my viewers were 72% mobile last month. 72%!

Therefore, here is clarity on how to navigate to the See First option on an iphone. Android users, as of this writing, your See First mobile features are still in development.

  • On your Facebook app,  scroll to the bottom of your news feed menu, and click into more on the bottom right

  • You’ll come to this screen, with lots of options. Scroll down to settings and hit News Feed Preferences:

  • Click into it and voila! This page appears. Hit Prioritize who to see first, up top, under Mr. Crabs:

Whether we’re thrilled with it or not, the See First option is an important one for us to know about and educate our followers on. It’s here to stay. We will quickly find out who our brand ambassadors are vs. who merely liked our page because we asked them to. Making it work to our advantage is going to be even more of an uphill battle now, but one we need to take on, and in the long run, as I discussed with my team today, one which is going to force us to create quality content that talks to our followers needs, and offers solutions, if we want them to stick around and see our content at all.

So get creative, go for the pain/solution and most of all add value. It’s going to be the only way to be heard above the noise from here on in. And if you’re frustrated or need help, feel free to contact me
