Prioritize To Monetize, or: Beware the Time Suck

Most of the time, you play many different roles, from the accountant to the account representative, to your very own coffee fetcher. Opinions Needed

I’m running a short survey to discover which day of the week you are more likely to read a blog….well, ok, my blog. There are so many theories on reader trends, and I’m finding that none are across the board, at least in my circles. Damn my diverse group of friends and colleagues!

So please do me a favor and give me your opinions on when you’re most likely to take the time to open up a blog over a cup of coffee, or large glass of wine, and be enthralled by my witty yet oh so valuable information:

Mondays- because it takes you a while to work into work mode after the weekend?

Wednesdays- hump day?

Fridays- because you’re so burnt out by then that you’re starting to wind down and need my cheery tips and observations to help you a) escape, or b)
into work mode for one last day, or c) be amused?

Or another day of the week?

Or…never??? if this is your answer i’m happy to remove your from the list. Well, full disclosure, perhaps not happy, but will remove you, grudgingly. Note to close friends and family: you are exempt from this choice. Just ask my brother who found this out the hard way.

Thanks for your responses, in advance. Kidding aside, your opinions are very valuable to me. Now i’ll go post this on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter like a good Social Media Marketer should.

Face It: Facebook Is here To Stay-Use That!

Face It- Facebook’s here and everyone wants in, even our parents, and much to my kids chagrin, even their grandparents…cringe. So

Here’s 3 Ways to take advantage of Facebook:

1)Share your business page as a link once a week and ask friends if they will “Like” your page. Be creative about it- have a lure – a reason-for them to do it waiting for them on the Facebook side, like a free service.

2)Along those lines, offer interesting, education based info and tools for them on your Facebook page that will be useful for them, such as a new widget or plug-in you’ve just discovered. Encourage visitors to comment on them and engage them in discussions. BUILD THAT RELATIONSHIP!

3) Share your blog on your facebook page and encourage folks to come over and share comments there. Hint hint.

Remember that Facebook is a public site, not private like your website, and therefore is indexed and ranked high on the search engines, often times much higher than your own site. Take advantage of that placement and make the site work for you.
