How to Be the Obvious Choice

“This seems like a lot of work for God’s sake. I have a website. I have a Facebook account. I send emails. I am a busy so and so. Why do I also need to be creating all this “content”?”

Let’s discuss amongst ourselves:

In order to make your medical practice or business stand out these days, you will need more than a website. You just do, even if it’s a beautiful one, and here’s the reason why: there are many of you out there, I’m sorry to say. There are many of me out there as well, if it makes you feel any better. So, what, in this new world of information/media blasting overload and intense competition, will make you and your business stand apart and get noticed? The number of business websites and blogs have more than quadrupled in the last 4 years. Getting noticed as the clear choice is getting harder and harder, unless you are in an industry with no competition.

So what sets you apart?

  • Your reputation-hopefully a good one- for sure,
  • The quality of your work or products,
  • Yes, your great customer service, for sure.

But guess what? Your competition also has a great reputation, gets referrals and has great customer service. And they give full refunds, no questions asked. So. Back you are at square 1. [Read more...]

Here’s How to Get More Business

Ghandi says: “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. My mother has been known to say “ For the love of God, learn from someone else’s mistakes once in a while”.
One has little to do with the other unless you really hurt your brain trying to come up with a connection; I just thought I’d throw them together, so don’t spend a lot of time on it.
That being said, it is the time of year for giving, and especially in marketing your services the concept of giving, and of

setting the stage for giving more, going above and beyond, cannot be more relevant, and important, if you want to be remembered. If you want to be top of mind when someone is wondering where to turn for a great coach. There are many of us out there, in the service industry, all trying to distinguish ourselves from one another. What makes the difference? Why will you be hired over the coach with the fancier website, the more frequent email campaigns, the catchier name? The difference is the level of service. It’s why my mother insists on going to the overpriced deli in town to get her chicken soup rather than going to Content marketing, extra value, little pink spoons, relationship marketing, “Givers Gain”. Call it what you may; all fairly new concepts and yet the oldest marketing concept (I refuse to call it a trick) in the book.
Be the change- not only will it earn you more business but it will earn you more points in the big book of life.

Secret to a Successful Blog = Secret to a Successful Networking Group

Have you wondered what the correlation between a great networking group that reaps results and a great blog that generates business leads is? What’s the secret, the common denominator that differentiates a lead generating blog or networking group from a sluggish networking group that creeps along, churning out awkward and sometimes wasted blocks of our time, or the website or blog that sits stagnant with analytics showing zero to three visitors per week, no comments and no leads coming in through the door?

I’ve been thinking about this lately when last weeks blog about the success of my BNI group seemed to hit such a chord of support and enthusiasm not just from our faithful group members but from other BNI members from throughout the state of CT as well.

The next day I was asked, as I am from many, what the REAL difference was between a blog and a website is, so to answer this for the masses that are still confused I’ll outline that here and then get to the point: [Read more...]
