I may have mentioned this before, but a few months back when we were reaching out to the various women on our Most Wanted list I accidentally sent Aliza Sherman a potty-mouthed email. It was intended for my partner Jennifer, as a response to Aliza agreeing to be a part of our tele-summit, and it sort of included the acronym OM#mce_temp_url#FG, as in
“OMFG, I can’t believe Aliza Sherman just said yes to us”.
Luckily, Aliza being the gracious and cool cyber chick she is, kept up her reputation, and, just as cool as I knew she’d be after years of following her career, and 30 seconds after I hit the send button to my tech idol of all time, responded something to the effect of “Hi Suzen….ya think? It’s not rocket science”.
Yeah. That happened. We laugh about it now. “Heh heh…..”
“It’s a man’s world out there in cyberspace – but not if Aliza Sherman has anything to say about it. Her mission: empower women and girls through technology.”
-The Wall Street Journal
This, ladies and gents, is who I have the privilege of interviewing tomorrow in Tuesdays segment of our MomtoMompreneurNow! Tele-summit. How cool is that.
Here’s what my ex husbands lecture agency, Greater Talent Network, has to say about her:
“Named by Newsweek as one of the “Top 50 People Who Matter Most on the Internet,” Aliza Sherman is a cyberspace thought leader and sought-after online marketing expert. She opened the door to the power and potential of female online presence when she founded Cybergrrl, Inc. in the early days of the World Wide Web. It
is a pioneering new media and entertainment company at the forefront of creating online programming, products, services and virtual communities. Sherman is also the founder of Webgrrls, a networking group for woman interested in the Internet that currently has over 100 chapters world-wide.
Sherman and her unique, female-based approach to e-business and Internet marketing have been profiled by People, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today,US News And World Report, CBS This Morning and CNN. In addition, she is the author of Cybergrrl: A Woman’s Guide to the World Wide Web and her latest release PowerTools for Women in Business: 10 Ways to Succeed in Life and Work, which highlights the 10 lessons she has lived and learned while running a business and searching for a purpose and features the stories of over 70 other women who share their experience and advice.”
Her newest project du force is Pinterest, and today at 1 PM EST, with us on our Mom to Mompreneur Now! tele-summit, she will be sharing not only her inspirational journey of how where got to where she is today in a field which up until now has been known as a mans world, but also
on all things Pinterest– how it can help grow your business, why it is being hailed as the fastest growing social media platform on the internet, and some of the most effective ways that Pinterest can work for you.
I am hopeful that Aliza really is as cool as her persona, and forgives my little faux pas a few months back, seeing it rather as the compliment it was intended as. Heh heh……
Sign up if you haven’t already, right here
I’m sure she has. Me? hmmm – still working on it! It was a great interview and Aliza was so generous with the information she shared with our mompreneurs!
wasn’t she?
